You’re Going to Do This, But Why?

Dear Reader,

The definition of your own life success, as well as financial prosperity, needs to be defined by each individual reading this letter.

Without a clear idea of what your objectives are and what your life’s purpose and passion are, you’ll end up never finding happiness.

Of course, there is no perma-state of being happy, but you certainly can’t ever get there if you don’t know what you are looking for.

It’s a pretty simple question, right? What makes you happy?

For me, it’s being in any environment where I am with my wife and 3 kids and have no outside obligations.

When it comes to financial goals, I think it’s even more important to define what it is exactly that you are trying to achieve. How much passive income do you need? What do you need to do to be financially happy?

The reason this can be even more important is because if you don’t define what financial independence or success are to you, you will absolutely fall into a never-ending life of “I need more money.” It will truly never end when it comes to money.

Money needs to be seen as a tool in life, and the desire for it needs to be caged.

Money is the means to an end… but not the end unto itself.
The focus on money is a loser’s bet and will lead to destruction in your life.

I’ve seen vast riches blow up in peoples’ faces many times.

The pursuit of money can lead to bad decision making, lack of integrity, and a wasted life.

At the core of your wealth creation must be your life’s purpose:

  • What are you working towards?
  • Why do you want more money?
  • What is your life mission?

I’ve told this story in the past and strongly encourage you to take a moment to think about 3 things you want people to say about you at your own funeral.

I believe it is likely that you will discover your own life’s purpose and fulfillment when you think about what you want people to say about your own legacy.

It’s important to know what you want in life so that you are not wandering around aimlessly or committing yourself to being busy for no good reason other than making more money.

Working, investing, business building, and wealth creation are important, but why?

Knowing what you want in life and reflecting on it daily will give you the resolve to live your life according to what makes you truly happy.

For my own life, money equals freedom, options, and a higher quality of life.

Right now, that means more time with my kids, wife, and the ability to experience certain activities with my young family that come with a high price tag.

Building a great business like this letter is also very rewarding, and I hope that when I’m gone, people will say that I was a great wealth teacher and financial independence motivator.

All life is finite… enjoy your life and use your money as a tool to further enhance your experiences. But remember that money is not the end… it is just the means to an end.

Relationships are your best investment by far, and it is very sad and difficult once those relationships come to an end.

This letter wants to help you truly experience wealth, both financially and in life.

Let’s keep safely building our wealth in 2019.

    Best Regards,
