The Israeli government did issue a travel advisory warning. It was actually a Level 4, which should have caused most Israeli tourists to choose a different country… it’s not like Turkey is the only nice summer destination that’s just a short flight away.
From Ben Gurion Airport, direct flights to Athens, Rome, Barcelona, Paris, and other capital cities such as Vienna, Berlin, and Geneva are easily booked.
Regardless of the travel advisory warnings, some Israelis had an attitude of asking, “What are the odds that in a city of 16M people, something will happen to me?”
What the Israeli security forces found out is that Iranian terror cells of assassins were creating fake social media accounts and simply chatting with Israelis that post recommendations on hotels and attractions in Istanbul.
It’s pretty intimidating when you think about it, but just by reading Facebook, it’s easy to learn what others like about a city such as good tourist areas, bargain hotels, and cheap food, for instance.
In June 2022, it happened to them.
By technological means that are not shared with the public, the right people in the security services realized that there was a cell lurking in the shadows in Istanbul under false pretenses and identities with one mission in mind: to assassinate random Israeli tourists.
In Tel Aviv, frantic phone calls began to be made to hundreds of Israeli families, couples, and singles in the area asking them to get home on the next flight.

As the night went on, the Israeli Security Services realized the full scope of the danger. A number of the Iranian assassins booked rooms in the same hotel just a few doors from the Israeli tourists.
In one testimony, a young couple shared the phone call they received from Tel Aviv’s war room.
At first, like many of us, they thought it was a prank call. What would you think if the person on the other side of the line told you that a number of trained professional killers had been following your every move for a number of days waiting for the right time to terrorize you and you need to leave the restaurant you’re in through a back ally where a van was waiting to whisk you to the airport?
As the person on the other side of the line kept showing the two tourists he knew everything about them, they got the message that this was no joke.
They immediately jumped into action, left their suitcases in their room, and flew back to Tel Aviv.
Others were asked to stay put until agents came to rescue them.
Later that day, a S.W.A.T. team from the Turkish special forces found the apartment used as HQ for the operation.

Like the Israeli tourists who just wanted to enjoy the gorgeous city of Istanbul, most people just want to make an honest living and get their fair share, but an inflationary nightmare has come right at them, and the central banks choked the credit out of the economy so much that we have not seen anything like it since the Great Depression.
Quick action got the Israelis out in time just like a perfect result in 2023 would be that the FED is able to masterfully cut rates when it’s time, but in the meantime, be prepared for the worst.
