Two Uninquisitive Countries
China is one of the ancient civilizations of the world. For most of human history, China has been one of the most advanced, resourceful, powerful, and contributing cultures.
China’s culture is vastly different than that of the West, though. For example, with their social credit score system, citizens feel the country is much better served than if the government didn’t monitor every person and their movements.
In China, if you try to throw garbage into the bin and you miss, the municipality will either text you, ping your smart watch, or call to ask you to go back and put it in the bin.
Chinese love China, and it drives them to extremes.
They love China so much that they wanted to build a wall around it and not allow anyone in.
The West is not like that at all. In the West, someone could throw their garbage either accidentally or on purpose right next to the bin, and it might stay that way for a few days until the disposal service comes around. Even then, depending on how loyal the civil worker is, they may not take the extra step of actually picking it up.
The West cherishes freedom and individual rights to the extremes. No one would call you about a piece of paper you threw on the ground, and no one would judge you.
Trump is known for wanting to erect walls and barriers between the U.S. and its neighbors, something he pushed more than any past president. The country has always welcomed immigrants, and that has been the secret sauce to its success: smart people coming in search of prosperity and the pursuit of happiness.

What China and the United States both share is a clear, centuries-long agenda of internal strengthening without conquering others and with no desire for conquest.
You, Mr. Xi Jinping, have the opportunity to lift humanity out of the age of violence, scarcity, and petty thinking.
You control the fate of humanity much more than anyone else because you’ll soon be in charge of the biggest economy in the world with the largest military budget.
If you plan to continue on the collision course with the United States, humanity is doomed to use rocks and sticks, but if you and whoever is in charge of the U.S. can build a future based on the premise that there’s enough for everyone, humans will have two opposing powers working in unison for the first time instead of being divided.
As we enter a global rate cut period, which I believe the Federal Reserve will join in June 2024, the soil will be fertile with the seeds of the boom.
If we’re not ready to face facts and understand that China can’t be tamed or defeated and instead has to be dealt with based on shared interests and compromise, the human race (all of it) will lose.
We need cooperation based on mutual respect between China and the U.S., and the place to start is the shared idea that superpowers don’t need to turn imperialistic.
