America's Energy Renaissance is Key

The Kremlin is sort of running out of moves, and two American developments, working in what I can only describe as perfect tandem, are the reason: (1) The shale energy revolution and (2) Donald Trump’s and Marco Rubio's geopolitical chess in Russia’s lesser-known fronts.

If you're an American, know this: wealth from the earth is changing your destiny.

Fifteen years ago, the world began to hear that oil was finished – I remember that nonsense so vividly. In 2008 crude hit $147 a barrel and “peak oil” declared that the West would forever kneel to OPEC and Moscow. Never bet against America!

Russia built its entire 21st-century strategy on that premise and overplayed its hand. Putin turned pipelines into weapons, cut gas to Ukraine and to Europe whenever he needed leverage, and used the resulting petro-dollars to bankroll wars in Georgia, Crimea, and the Donbas. Remember, in 2008, Obama won the presidency and Putin smelled opportunity to regain territory.

Then fracking happened.

Horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing unlocked oceans of oil and gas trapped in shale rock that globalists had written off as unrecoverable. American ingenuity, the same one that lifted humanity of the dark with Edison, that made travel accessible with cars and planes and that made information freely available, now discovered this.

U.S. crude production doubled in a decade, from roughly 5 million barrels per day in 2008 to over 13 million today. Natural-gas output exploded even faster. Energy is LIFE.

By 2019 the United States had become the world’s largest producer of both oil and natural gas, and by 2025 America is the planet’s top exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG). As I continue to say, God touched this country. It simply has everything.

Europe’s dependence on Russian gas has plummeted from nearly 40 % a decade ago to under 8 % today! In the new world system, the U.S. isn't buying friends – it earns friendships. Big difference.

Moscow’s budget, which still relies on oil and gas for roughly half its revenue, is bleeding.

Trump’s team quietly dismantled the ring-of-buffer-states Putin needs, at the same time as weakening his energy revenues.

    • In the Caucasus, the administration fast-tracked billions in defensive arms to Georgia and accelerated the Southern Gas Corridor, piping Azerbaijani gas through Georgia to Europe and bypassing Russia entirely.

This effectively makes logistics between Iran, Syria and Russia extremely challenging, if not impossible. It's a major game-changer.

    • In Central Asia, Kazakhstan—once a reliable Russian satellite—signed massive LNG and pipeline deals with Chevron and ExxonMobil, diversifying away from Russian routes.

The perimeter is cracking. In the world of adults, what this tells you is that a country that shares a border with both China and Russia, feels comfortable making deals with Washington.

With energy revenues collapsing and buffer states slipping from his grasp, Moscow can no longer afford open-ended wars or the lavish subsidies that once kept allies loyal.

The bear is not dead, but for the first time in two decades, it is the one in the cage. Putin never dreamed that nearly four years after his invasion, Ukraine would become an obsession, while he took his eye from two other major fronts.

The U.S. was once the world’s largest oil importer, hemorrhaging hundreds of billions of dollars annually to its geopolitical rivals. The rise of fracking shredded this and Trump is using it to America's favor.

This transformed the United States from a debtor nation into an Energy Powerhouse, reversing the flow of the global energy tributary.

Instead of capital flowing inevitably to Moscow, it now floods into the Gulf Coast. Russia's economy is a patrol station and that's about it. Trump is making Putin pay for trying to leverage that.

The U.S. rapidly became the world’s largest oil producer, its third-largest petroleum exporter, and its top exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and this is what makes Europe choose to receive its oil from across the Atlantic.

Putin can no longer rely on using the threat of cutting off gas supply to coerce European capitals or shore up his regime's finances.

Under President Trump’s strategic vision, by strengthening ties with countries like Azerbaijan—a vital energy partner critical to non-Russian gas pipelines to Europe—and managing regional dynamics, the administration quietly supported the erosion of Moscow’s role.

This strategic shift not only reinforced a crucial East-West energy corridor but also chipped away at the notion that Russia is the indispensable security guarantor in the region.

NATO members are dramatically increasing defense spending, thereby reducing Europe’s dependency on the U.S. and presenting a more robust, united front against Russian expansionism.

This made it increasingly difficult for Putin to use proxies, sow division, or profit from regional chaos without direct American pushback.

The cumulative effect of this dual strategy is profound. Putin finds himself economically strangled by cheap, abundant American energy and strategically encircled by a resurgent, clear-eyed American foreign policy.

Russia is now confronting an America that is not only energy independent but also strategically dominant, forcing the Kremlin into a defensive posture and boxing President Putin into a corner of declining global influence.
