We should lay low, mind our own business and isolate from the rest of these volatile theaters.
The logic is so seductive and so simplistic that it gathers a crowd of followers so quickly.
After all, who wouldn’t want America to simply guard its own borders and for unicorns and rainbows to fill our skies, while dollars grow on trees and gold streams down our rivers?
This train of thought assumes that ALL PEOPLE, everywhere, want the same thing as Qatarlson, because otherwise, what Tucker is basically offering 330M Americans is to wait until Chinese ships pop in the middle of the Pacific, alongside Russian ones, and begin bombing urban centers.
Isolationism is a beautiful fantasy, but the reality is that it’s insanity.

What he’s basically saying is that American presidents are pathetic at prosecuting war, because the objective aren’t clear or too grandiose, leading to disaster, destruction and no measurable positive outcome.

Last week, Donald J. Trump asked Qatarlson on the phone, point blank: “Are you okay with Iran having nuclear weapons?”
This type of question is what defines Mr. Trump; it’s a first-principles question. It doesn’t assume anything — it is fundamental.
The answer is either YES or NO.
You’ll notice that once this question is answered, there’s no going back.
Where the American public lacks in understanding is why the U.S. would use military means in a war that is fought so far from its mainland.
This is where the isolationist has a brain malfunction.
He can’t draw a direct line from what is happening in the Middle East to his existence in the United States, where he enjoys freedom, protected by a constitution.
He is arguing, in essence, that what he (and his followers) want is for the cost of living under this greatest form of liberty to be as minimal as possible.
Unfortunately, the world is so much more complex than that.
